Meet Dr. Elisabeth Sweeney

Licensed Psychologist, Founder and Co-Owner

Dr. Elisabeth Sweeney is a licensed clinical and school psychologist with more than a decade of experience in educational and clinical settings. She founded River City Psych in 2021 after relocating to Richmond, with the goal of creating a welcoming, neurodiversity-affirming space for developmental and psychoeducational evaluations.

Elisabeth specializes in assessing autism, ADHD, learning differences like dyslexia, and other developmental concerns. Her goal is always to understand the whole child—how learning, mental health, and development intersect—so families walk away with insight, clarity, and next steps.

Meet Sloan Smith

Licensed School Psychologist, Co-Owner

Sloan Smith is a licensed school psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and their families. She specializes in psychological, developmental, and psychoeducational evaluations for individuals ages 2 through early adulthood.

Sloan brings a deep understanding of both school systems and private practice to her work. She is passionate about helping families gain meaningful insights into their child’s strengths and challenges, and she strives to make each evaluation a collaborative, supportive experience.

Meet Danielle Bettin

Licensed School Psychologist

Danielle Bettin, EdS, NCSP, is a licensed and nationally certified school psychologist who offers comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents. Danielle also provides counseling and consultation services to address barriers related to learning disabilities, ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, behavior challenges, emotional dysregulation, and executive dysfunction.

Danielle assists families in understanding their child’s strengths and needs and provides recommendations and strategies to improve learning and overall functioning. Danielle can also support families with navigating the IEP and 504 processes through their school systems.

Meet Anne Coward

licensed educator

Anne Coward is a licensed educator with over 18 years of experience teaching in Virginia. Most of her experiences have been in neighboring school districts with students and families of various backgrounds, working primarily with K-5 elementary aged students. She is passionate about helping students find success in school, feel more confident, and discover ways to make stronger connections to what they are learning. She enjoys using her knowledge and various teaching modalities to help best meet the needs of students.

Meet Lisa Pyron

Office Manager

Lisa is often the first person you’ll hear from at River City Psych. As office manager, she wears many hats—including intake coordinator, editor, and testing assistant—keeping the practice running smoothly behind the scenes.

Originally from just outside Boston, Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and has called the Richmond area home for the past 30 years. She has over a decade of experience working in the psychology field and brings warmth, organization, and a personal touch to every interaction.

Lisa is a proud mom of four and grandmother of three. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, health and fitness, genealogy, and traveling to visit her family in Washington state and Utah.
